Papers II, 1830-1864.

A small collection of the Richards family of Cummington, Quincy, and Braintree, Mass. including a few letters between Charles Clapp and Lysander Richards and a letter from William L. Garrison to Clapp rejecting his application to work on the Liberator. Also, the diary of Louisa C. Richards kept from 12 June - 17 Aug. 1859 in Quincy, Mass. and on a summer vacation to Claremont, N.H.; the diary of Charles N. Richards (27 Oct. - 9 Nov. 1864) noting his baptism in Washington and a trip by train to Quincy, Mass. where he hoped, but was denied the opportunity, to vote for Abraham Lincoln; and copies of a few letters from Nehemiah Richards to his son Lysander (in Louisa Richards's diary).
